Blurring the boundaries between photography, sculpture and installation, my work explores the relationship between perception and space through projection and small-scale installations. The installations that I construct are purposely made small but when photographed they appear large and imposing. This is to challenge the viewers sense of scale and alter their perception to perceive the scene in a new and unexpected way.

The sculptural forms are made using foam board and paper and serve as a canvas for my image projections, creating an environment that evokes a sense of solitude. The often present sphere in my work acts as a representation of one's self, while the response between the structure and projection represent human experience.

Through these constructed scenes my hope is to offer the viewer a moment to pause, to reflect, or to just experience a moment of stillness.

MORE ABOUT THE ARTIST

During my studies in photography, I discovered a love for set design and light projection. I’m drawn to the way constructed spaces can shape meaning and how combined with light projection it can transform simple materials into immersive environments.
