This project merges an AI generated image—the flower— with light projection. Although the projected image appears to be three dimensional, it is in fact flat, working in unity with the physical structure to present an alternative perspective. This illusion mirrors the generative nature of AI - how it processes information and alters it into something else while the essence of the original source remains.

The projected image represents AI itself; the structure symbolises the source of information from which AI draws; and the three-dimensional effect is a fusion of the two. 

 

The flowers—the only element generated by AI—are symbolic to the transformation we currently face, while the decaying flower on slide 3 represents the loss of ‘traditional’ photography as we transition into a new era shaped by machine learning.

Each scene is constructed and photographed individually, designed to link together to reveal a hidden narrative. This technique gives the overall scene a surreal quality. While the surrounding elements are distinguishable, there is something slightly “off”—a reflection of AI’s signature style in the images it generates.
